The Buddha park - Ravangla

If you are heading towards  Sikkim than you must visit this breathtaking  town called Ravangla which is situated at an elevation of 8000ft in South Sikkim district of the state of Sikkim,
It is connected by state highway to other towns in the state and lies between Pelling and Gangtok,
It is approximately 120 km away from Siliguri, West Bengal, and 65km away from the state capital Gangtok.


The Buddha Park of Ravangla

One of the famous tourists attraction area in the south Sikkim, which you should never miss stopping by if you are in the south Sikkim.

 The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) this beautiful park was constructed between 2006 and 2013 and the main reason which attracts a huge number of tourists is its magnificent Buddha statue which is 130-foot (40m) high, features as its centerpiece.

 The statue was consecrated on 25 March by the 14th Dalai lama.
This statue marks the occasion of the 2550th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha
This place comes under the state government project and the main purpose to built this park is to boost the pilgrimage and tourism in the region.
The Cho Djo lake is also located in the region surrounded by forests.

This park is located 126km from Bagdogra airport, 122km from Jalpaiguri,118km from Siliguri and 85km from Gangtok, these three places Bagdogra, Jalpaiguri, and Siliguri are the hub you can choose any one of these spots to begin your journey towards Ravangla.
National transport busses are there, taxis are also available on the private and shared fare.

My personal experience was on the bike, if you love to explore or you want a better view experience or you love adventure, I would definitely suggest you go on a bike ride and feel the place, the roads are insane, at many points you can experience off-roading so it's a little dangerous too so if you are an experienced rider than only dare to go on a bike because safety comes first.

There are two routes to reach the place one  is Rangpo and second is Pabong & Yangang 
The later one is chosen by the riders mostly, so if you are planning to go on a bike you can choose Pabong & Yangang  for amazing offroading experience and adventurous roads
The approximate duration from Bagdogra to the Buddha Park is 3 hr 50min (128km).

From Bagdogra to Ravangla via NH10 and NH710.
